Bonnaroo Scoop (Literally)

Ben & Jerry’s is clearly playing favorites in terms of summer music festivals this year, as the company just unveiled a signature Bonnaroo flavor.

Apparently they also think that if it were edible, this arts and music fest would taste like “light coffee and malt ice cream with whiskey caramel swirls and english toffee pieces.”

Now, I’ve never been so I can’t judge, but the above description isn’t exactly what first jumps to mind when I think of a days long music festival. Although the aptly named “Bonnaroo Buzz” does seem somewhat appropriate…

Jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights added to Bonnaroo Lineup

While the lineup for Bonnaroo 2010 was unveiled throughout the day on Feb. 9, performers are still being added to the list.

The latest?  Jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights, an amazing band from Dallas, Texas.  I’m not sure how to classify their music…the sound is totally raw, it’s a little bit bluesy rock, a little bit soul, and they’ve got the look of a modern day Lynyrd Skynyrd.

The band’s first album, “Hot Trottin'” debuted in 2007 and they’re expected to release another one at some point this year.

If you’re lucky enough to be heading to Bonnaroo, be sure to check these guys out.  (Also, be sure to take me with you!)

For now, I’ll leave you with this video:

If you like their sound, check out some of their other songs, “Gypsy Woman,” “She Wears a Smile” and “Time for Love.”

Bonnaroo runs June 10 to 13 in Manchester, Tennessee.  To buy tickets, click here.
