Craven’s “Director’s Series” poster line

Mondo, the collectible art boutique of Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas, has chosen horror aficionado Wes Craven to be featured in its latest line of movie posters. The first two have been created? “A Nightmare on Elm Street” and “Scream.”

Both posters were created by artist Alex Pardee, who is best known for illustrating album artwork for the band The Used.

Battle of the “Scream 4” posters

Personally, I’m diggin’ the second version of Wes Craven’s “Scream 4” poster below:

I love you, Wes, but the Scream franchise probably should have ended a while ago. Nevertheless, I must admit I’m excited to see this one because part of it was filmed in my hometown. Check out the new trailer for “Scream 4,” out April 15.

Kickin’ It With Wes Craven

Living in Metro Detroit is definitely getting better these days. With the film incentives Michigan has to offer, celebs have just been flocking to my hometown like crazy these days.

Gerard Butler was here a few weeks ago. Pierce Brosnan was here in May. David Schwimmer was here in December.

The latest?

Director Wes Craven and the cast and crew of “Scream 4.”

Shooting took place in downtown Plymouth on Monday and Tuesday, where a set for the film’s Woodsboro police station was built earlier in the week.

When my friend and I got to the set, we were instantly mistaken as extras, which, I’m not going to lie to you, pretty much made my day.

In addition to Wes, Hayden Panettiere, Courtney Cox and David Arquette were also lurking around the set.

Over the course of the day, I managed to get some pretty good pictures.

Take a look at a few of my personal faves:

“Scream 4” is being filmed in other Metro Detroit locations including Dearborn, Livonia and Northville. The film is scheduled for release on April 5, 2011.
